Zumba® is the newest fitness craze, and we can’t get enough of it! If you’re looking for a fun, high-energy workout to add to your routine, Zumba® might be the perfect class for you. Zumba® is a Latin-inspired cardio-dance workout that uses music and choreographed steps to create a fun, “fitness-party” atmosphere. With a tagline of “Ditch the Workout, Join the Party,” each class emphasizes moving to the music and having a good time; no rhythm or dance experience required!
Working up a sweat in the 60-minute classes burns an average of 369 calories – which is more than cardio kickboxing or step aerobics! You’ll get a great cardio workout that burns through fat, strengthens your core, and improves overall flexibility and joint mobility. This fun whole-body workout has other unique physical health benefits, as well: the fast-paced hip movements and gyrations increase core and trunk strength and work to improve balance. It’s also a great option for those who may not enjoy traditional, toned down fitness classes!
While many of the types of dance and music featured in the program are Latin American inspired, classes also highlight everything from jazz to African beats and even hip-hop. Our Mira Mesa Zumba® classes are perfect for anyone who loves to move and enjoys good music; people of all ages, shapes, and sizes are welcome and encouraged to attend our classes.
Our Mira Mesa classes can be geared for just about any fitness level, and though most Zumba® involves high-impact moves like bouncing and jumping, the classes are designed with all levels of experience in mind – whether you’re a beginner and have never tried a class or you’ve been doing it for years.
